Happy Birthday Dave Winer

Filed under: Personal — Les Bain @ 9:25 am

Who is Dave Winer?  This is from Dave’s blog.

Dave Winer, 53, pioneered the development of weblogs, syndication (RSS), podcasting, outlining, and web content management software; former contributing editor at Wired Magazine, research fellow at Harvard Law School, entrepreneur, and investor in web media companies. A native New Yorker, he received a Master’s in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin, a Bachelor’s in Mathematics from Tulane University and currently lives in Berkeley, California.

I do not know whether he bumped up the age yet or not, but it is his birthday.

I read Dave’s blog.  I follow him on Twitter.  I listen to his podcasts. I am smarter for doing so.

Sometimes when I talk to people I share Dave’s ideas.  Usually I give him credit.   Sometimes I don’t.   Thanks Dave.

I met Dave Winer once.  Shook his hand.  Said thanks for all his contributions to the Internet.  And I am pleased to add my good wishes today on his birthday.
