Today is Blog Action Day.  The theme is the power of we.

I belong to a group that is raising the prosperity of everyone in the group by working cooperatively. We come together to define projects that help the entire group, and we meet to discuss the economy and what we can do to change it.

I am pleased to be able to watch wine making in progress.  I am not watching every step, but it taking place close to me,  and I am paying attention.  It is a fascinating process.

The poor ain’t what they used to be

Now we face what Andy Sumner, who’s probably the most talked-about scholar of poverty, calls the “poverty paradox.” The problem, he says, is that “most of the world’s extreme poor do not live in the world’s poorest countries.”

 

A fascinating article on the changes in poverty.  It is no longer enough to help poor countries and therefore those in poverty.  Those in poverty are now part of the developed nations.

Summer BBQ

There was a BBQ here yesterday.  I was feeling under the weather, so did not want to attend and infect anyone.  But the food was delivered to my door by my caring family, and it was delicious.  I have enough left overs to hold me for a couple of days, so I am feeling blessed.
